Vegan Shack has expanded.
Following a highly successful two years in business, Vegan Shack has officially cast its net a little wider, opening a brand new store in busy Piccadilly Gardens. Bringing its beloved vegan junk food menu to the city centre, the tasty takeaway also operates a brick-and-mortar store in Collyhurst, where it has provided home deliveries and takeaways for Manchester’s vegan community throughout the pandemic.
Originally starting back in March 2019 in founder Dimeji Sadiq’s one-bedroom apartment in Salford, Vegan Shack has come on leaps and bounds in just two years, gaining a huge following of vegan food lovers across Manchester. Finding success in a similar way to social media’s ‘trapbox’ chefs, Dimeji and his girlfriend began creating test dishes with the £30 left in their pockets and posting them to Instagram, where they found local foodies had a serious appetite for what they were creating.
Speaking of how Vegan Shack came to life, Dimeji said: “My girlfriend Saffron and I would make these delicious kebabs & loaded fries for ourselves when we were craving some flavourful plant-based fast food… I quickly realised that surely there must be other people that will want this?!”
Becoming the only independent restaurant in Piccadilly Gardens, the owners have described the new venue as a “big achievement”, with no outside investment contributing to their growth and Dimeji praising the “amazing & supportive vegan community” for their catapult to success thus far.
Bringing their beloved menu of original bestsellers to the new site, fans will be able to enjoy grub such as their vegan doner kebabs, BBQ loaded fries and peri chick’n tenders, as well as a whole host of new surprises, too. Vegan Shack has also introduced a brand new ‘Saver Menu’ with tasty lunch options such as their ‘cheese’burger, as well as a tasty breakfast menu that includes a plant-based take on the famous McDonald’s breakfast McMuffin.
Vegan Shack’s brand new venue can be found at Unit F, One Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester M1 1RG and is open daily from 7am til 6pm.
