Food allergies generally manifest themselves in the form of signs and symptoms that affect a child’s body. A mild allergy may not affect a child badly but a severe allergy may result in dangerous symptoms that a child might experience. Severe rashes, breathing problems and vomiting may occur because of that.
Since, it becomes difficult to know if your kid suffers from a particular food allergy, you as a parent, can try to look out for signs that may point towards a food allergy. These signs can develop in a child within as soon as a few minutes to within a few hours. Here are the signs or symptoms you can look out for:
Coughing
Sneezing
Experiencing congestion and redness of the skin around the nose
Itchiness in the mouth and lips
Itchiness in the throat
Red and itchy skin on the face
Developing bumps, rashes or hives on the skin
Swelling around the mouth, nose or eyes
Diarrhoea
Vomiting
Stomach pain
Difficulty breathing
Feeling dizzy
You might even need to question your child a bit more to understand the symptoms he/she might be experiencing as many times he/she would be unable to convey them properly.
