AKRON, Ohio – Off the Vine: An Evening Pairing of Food & Wine is scheduled to take place at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens.
The event is 6-9 p.m. Friday, July 23. Reservation deadline is Friday, July 16.
“Off the Vine” includes a sparkling-wine aperitif, souvenir glass and samples of more than three dozen wines. Patrons can sip vino throughout the gardens and try tapas-style appetizers from Acme Fresh Market Catering, Taste of Excellence, Todaro’s and Yellow House Cheese, with desserts by Tiffany’s Bakery.
The Manor House – which features “Restoration: If This Hall Could Talk” exhibit – will be open for self-guided tours, as is “Winds of Change,” a garden exhibit of kinetic sculptures by local artists.
Local musicians Hey Mavis, the Tony Koussa Jr Duo, Siobhan McCarthy and The Stingers will perform.
Tickets for the 21-and-older event are $65 ($52 for members). A retail wine pop-up shop will be open during the event for patrons to buy bottles.
Stan Hywet – which covers 70 acres and was the home of F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. – is at 714 N. Portage Path, Akron.
