The Swansea man who is selling CBD oil after experiencing the results firsthand

It has been a whirlwind six months for Swansea businessman Dylan Hole.

Since officially launching Moonlit CBD last December, the 26-year-old entrepreneur has seen demand for his CBD oil products grow and is now supplying a large number of gyms, shops and wellbeing centres right up the M4 corridor.

And now with restrictions lifted, demand is only getting bigger especially in the fitness industry with more and more customers asking for CBD oil.

Moonlit CBD started after Dylan began using CBD products to help ease discomfort.

After a couple of years toying with the business idea and putting plans into place, Mr Hole took the plunge and has been overwhelmed with the demand. He explained: “I went to America and couldn’t believe how big CBD was and how accessible it was. I wanted to create something that was better than what was being offered in the UK. CBD oil is a huge industry and is growing in popularity as more people become aware of it.”

What is CBD oil?

Moonlit CBD carry a wide range of broad-spectrum CBD oils

CBD or Cannabidiol is found in the cannabis plant and may have certain positive benefits such as promoting feelings of calm and relaxation. Moonlit CBD contains broad-spectrum CBD which contains cannabidiol and all of the compounds found within the plant, apart from THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). The THC is completely removed after the initial extraction. As broad-spectrum CBD contains multiple cannabinoids, it can still deliver the enhanced entourage effect. It can only be sold to people aged 18 and over.

Is CBD legal in the UK?

Any CBD oil that is produced using hemp plants is 100% legal to buy and consume in the UK, so long as that the oil derived from the hemp plant contains less than 0.2% THC. CBD has been legal since 2018 and has proven popular with adults of all ages, including pensioners. Since 31 March 2021, CBD traders must also have applied for, and or acquired, a Novel Foods Licence application from the Foods Standards Agency to further ensure UK consumers are purchasing quality products.

Can I take CBD with medication?

When it comes to using a CBD product with medication, Moonlit CBD always advises one thing – check with a medical professional.

Is it addictive?

CBD is categorically not addictive. A recent report by the World Health Organization declared that CBD is non-addictive, writing, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential” and that “CBD is generally well-tolerated with a good safety profile.”

“There is a demand for CBD oil in the fitness industry”

Chris Ware, co-owner of the Ware-house Gym Swansea, stocks Moonlit CBD and says customers regularly buy it.

He said: “Being in the fitness and gym industry for so many years we have seen lots of people coming and going with the new revolutionary supplement but there always seems to be a new and better one a few months later down the line.

“Over the last two or so years, everyone seems to be going down the route of using CBD, myself included. I must say, I love it and it seems to be the only supplement that has stuck.

“When we launched our new gym Ware-house Gym Swansea, we just knew that we had to stock CBD products. That’s when we found Moonlit CBD. Moonlit is a local company to us as they are Swansea-based. Their products and branding are fantastic, their customer service is always professional and they deliver on everything they promise.

One of our key objectives from the start of our project was to encourage a healthy lifestyle outside of our traditional classes and using the gym. Moonlit CBD fits into this perfectly.”

How do you take it?

There’s a fast-growing CBD product range but the most simple way to get your CBD is to take a soft gel capsule (gummies) or take a few drops of an oral tincture. There are a number of water and skincare products, as well as teas infused with CBD, but as the industry grows, expect to see more innovative products come to market.

Moonlit CBD products are derived from Colorado, USA, which is well known for producing the pinnacle of CBD products and then they are manufactured in the UK.

There is a range of products especially recommended for those just starting their CBD journey. They can only be sold to people aged 18 and over. These include:

Why Moonlit CBD?

Moonlit CBD is the name of the business, which is based in Llanrhidian, Gower. Mr Hole thought of the idea while sitting in his garden, looking up at the moon.

“I was trying to think of a name for the company and it was while I was outside looking at the moon, the name moonlit came to me,” he said. “We now have different ranges named after the galaxy, such as Lunar, Zodiac, Starlight etc.

Where can you buy Moonlit CBD?

Moonlit CBD is popular with athletes including horseriders

Moonlit CBD is currently stocked in around 30 shops and gyms in and around Swansea right up to Bristol areas. Some suppliers in Swansea include Celtic Vapours and Ware House Gym Swansea. It can only be sold to people aged 18 and over.

As well as being popular with athletes, Moonlit CBD has a wide following with horseriders.

Customer Tassy Purnell, who is a competitive horse rider, said: “I tried CBD and it helped eased the discomfort I was having. Moonlit was very knowledgeable and helped find the right product for me.”

The products are also recommended by wellbeing clinics including Bristol-based Tip the Balance, which works with clients to educate and empower them to eat well and balance their body systems, where needed, with the support of naturally sourced, food-based products and supplements.

Talking about Moonlit, Tip the Balance founder Dr Rebecca Lightfoot, said: “We are very particular about the companies and suppliers we partner with, ensuring they follow the same compliance regulations as us and we share similar ethical principles and values. Moonlit CBD fits that requirement for us – Products that we know will benefit our clients, strong morals, values and ethical practices, great customer service, very speedy delivery and a willingness to collaborate with the right kind of businesses to protect our shared reputations.”

Moonlit CBD can also be purchased online, check out the website for more information.
