There are lots of events going on every month, so with summer well and truly here HertsLive has put together a list of the events happening in July so you can get out and about and enjoy the summer sun.
Enjoy the home-grown talent of St Albans’ finest local produce and support some independent businesses by visiting one of the many markets happening in the city.
These are all of the markets happening in St Albans.
There will be twice-weekly charter markets – every Wednesday and Saturday. You can shop for everything you could ever need and enjoy the buzz of the city and the market at the heart of St Albans’ story.
Young Traders Market
The brand new recently launched Young Traders Marker will begin on the first Thursday in June and continue every Thursday across each month over the summer.
It was created to support and nurture young talent, the market will have a collection of young entrepreneurs offering everything from baked goods, jewellery, cocktails and even 3D printing. The market will be open from 4-8pm.
Inside Out Market
This fringe pop-up market will take place every Friday in Market Place. Take in the local street food and artisan goods from a collection of local businesses. It will be open from Friday, July 2 and every Friday after that until July 23.

St Albans Vegan Market
The St Albans Vegan Market will take over St Peter’s Street in the heart of town, where the Charter and Farmer’s markets will operate. It will only take over on a few Sundays throughout the year. The event will have up to 60 stalls including a huge variety of vegan fast food, healthy eats, artisan savouries, sweet bakes, craft cheeses, handmade cosmetics, ethical clothing & jewellery, arts and crafts, plastic-free and charity stalls.
All of the products will be created by a handpicked selection of talented, ethical and sustainable businesses.
The market will take place on Sunday, July 4 from 10.30 until 4pm.
Another brand new addition to St Albans’ list of markets, the caravanserai will bring the spirit and historical concept of caravanserai to St Albans every second Thursday of the month.
Caravanserais originally supported the flow of information, commerce and people through a series of trade routes covering Asia, North Africa and Southeast Europe.
Most notably these trade routes crossed the Silk Road so expect to see beautiful handmade Pakistani dupattas, traditional Indian desserts, authentic Bangladeshi plants and handcrafted homewares from Arab nations.
The caravanserai will be on Thursday, July 8 from 4-8pm.
St Albans Farmers Market
A chance to stock up on local specialities such as cheeses, seasonal fruit and veg, fresh herbs and high-quality meat and game. The farmers market will be there to not only provide quality local produce but also help local farmers, growers and producers sell their produce and make a name for themselves among the public.
There will be plenty to take home including freshly baked bread and cakes as well as local hand-crafted goods.
The market will be located opposite the museum and gallery on Sunday, July 11 from 8am to 2pm.
St Albans Vintage Market
If you’re interested in some pieces of history then the vintage market is the perfect opportunity to find some wonderful antiques, vintage, brocade and architectural salvage. There will be an amazing atmosphere full of history with dealers to provide everything you need.
The market will be in St Albans for one day on July 18 from 9-3pm.
Discover produce and delights from around the globe at the World Market which will take place in High St, Market Place and George St on Sunday, July 25 from 11 – 5pm.
Real Street Food Nights
Yet another new addition to the St Albans itinerary. The Real Street Food nights will take place on the last Thursday of each month from four to eight o’clock throughout the summer.
The market will bring together a range of traders and vendors offering delicacies from around the world. From Mexican, Baja, Churros, Caribbean fusion and more. This will be available on Thursday, July 29 from 4-8pm.

On July 23, pubs across St Albans will be taking part in a charity event for Ask For Clive, an inclusive charity for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
The charity launched the event to unite LGBTQ+ communities across the UK while supporting local businesses.
The Great Outdoors: Roderick Wiliams
On July 11 the celebrated baritone, Roderick Williams, together with music by Butterworth, Ireland, Gurney and more will perform with pianist Susie Allan and artist Felix Kemp.
Tickets will be available to book from St Albans Cathedral Box Office.
St Albans Comic-Con
On July 18 you will be able to enjoy a massive line-up of guests from your favourite TV shows, movies, games and comics as well as an array of props and vehicles.
Jimcredible will once against host the Cosplay area along with the Creed Cosplay Ambassadors and specialists traders. The event will run from 10am until 4.30pm.
From Wednesday, July 28 until August 1, comedy-lovers from St Albans and across the county will be treated to a spectacle of stand-up superstars including multi-award winning talents such as Sara Pascoe, Dara O’Briain, Josh Widdicombe, Alan Davies, Tom Allen and Rob Beckett.
The new event will take place over five nights in the gorgeous Verulamium Park.
